  • FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – COLORADO (I-25 Corridor between Pueblo and Colorado Springs)
    Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking an experienced electrical technician to maintain and repair photovoltaic sites in central and southeast Colorado.
  • Detailed Responsibilities

    • Respond to tickets from dispatch.
    • Routine site maintenance.
    • Oversight of 3rd party technicians.
    • Preventative Maintenance, including detailed notes, descriptions of issues and photos.
    • Handle warranty repair and replacement.
    • Troubleshoots issues as they arise; evaluates alternatives and proposes solutions.
    • Test, Analyze, and Repair problems in Photovoltaic Inverters and monitoring (DAS) Systems, as well as other components of large (>30KW) PV power plants.
    • Perform moderately complex but repetitive testing, and troubleshooting.
    • Uses, maintains, and secures test devices and tools used to adjust, calibrate, and repair equipment; including clamp-on meters, PQA, IV Curve tracer.
    • Ensures that service commitments are met within expected response time.
    • Manages vehicle inventory and restocks as necessary.
    • Completes required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, and equipment related items).

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years electrical experience.
    • Appropriate licensing to work as electrician in the designated area.
    • Working knowledge of solar industry best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar failures.
    • Ability to work well with subcontracted Construction personnel in resolution of issues identified in the field during that phase of a project.
    • Ability to take detailed documentation and assessment of any/all task at hand.
    • NABCEP certification or other component specific solar certifications a plus.

  • IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST – TUCSON, AZ
    Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking an experienced Tucson-based IT professional to provide technical support to end users, administer and support all technology equipment (PC’s, printers, servers and telecom), as well manage the help desk process.
  • Detailed Responsibilities

    • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
    • Establish service ticketing process and identify and organize such according to priority.
    • Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the Bay4 computer network.
    • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
    • Maintain and configure hosted sites.
    • Manage mobile devices (cellular modems, phones and tablets) and maintain accounts.
    • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
    • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
    • Assist with onboarding new users, as well as offboarding of exiting employees.
    • Document internal procedures.
    • Assist with maintaining Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field.
    • 2 years of relevant technical experience preferred.
    • Experience in Microsoft products including Office 365 and Email.
    • Strong aptitude in OS repairs, spy ware and virus removal, hardware, upgrades and troubleshooting and network security configuration.
    • Knowledge of computer logic in order to perform task listed under essential functions.
    • Keen attention to detail and analytical orientation.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills needed to interact with others and provide exceptional customer care.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.

  • Energy Production & Monitoring Apprentice – TUCSON, AZ
    Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking individuals who wishe to begin a career in the solar energy field. The ideal candidates will have a mathematics or quantitative background, education and/or experience enabling to to analyze and evaluate complex data sets.
  • Essential Functions

    • Continuously monitors operation of solar PV systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate/solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Supports the Specialists in reviewing and prioritizing alarms & tickets.
    • Assists the Specialists and field teams to achieve resolution of electrical and/or monitoring issues.
    • Interfaces with DAS system to identify problems on site.
    • Assures systems performance, tracking functions through DAS alert systems.
    • Learns and follows the system for tracking work orders and maintenance history of sites/facilities.
    • Assists the Energy Production and Monitoring Specialists in preparing reports, analyzing data, and timely distributing of information to management and other stakeholders.
    • Contributes to the minimization of system downtime and lost production.
    • Monitors global fleet of solar power plants to identify system outages and performance issues which impact maximized energy yield.
    • Creates drafts of dispatch tickets to Regional Service Technicians for the Specialist to review.
    • Generates graphs and compiles data sets for analysis and identifying historical trends.
    • Communicates, describes current & historical operational status of PV systems with internal departments and/or external entities.
    • Produces solar system failure history for vendor warranty purposes.
    • Follows processes and procedures, including identifying methods to increase efficiency.
    • Assists in writing documentation for expanded tools and processes as they are developed.
    • Supports field technicians with DAS readings and troubleshooting.
    • Assist in the management of ticket updates, ensuring that tickets get a timely response.

    Qualifications

    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people are essential. Multi-tasking and excellent organizational skills are necessary.
    • Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required. Able to create, understand and utilize raw data analysis in excel and various internal tools required.
    • Knowledge of IT systems, database architecture, and software development processes and best practices is desired. Knowledge of both Windows based and Linux based systems also a plus.
    • Strong computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel is a requirement.
