Field Service Technicians – California

Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and repair photovoltaic sites in California

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Respond to tickets from dispatch.
  • Routine site maintenance.
  • Oversight of 3rd party technicians.
  • Preventative Maintenance, including detailed notes, descriptions of issues and photos.
  • Handle warranty repair and replacement.
  • Troubleshoots issues as they arise; evaluates alternatives and proposes solutions.
  • Test, Analyze, and Repair problems in Photovoltaic Inverters and monitoring (DAS) Systems, as well as other components of large (>30KW) PV power plants.
  • Perform moderately complex but repetitive testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Uses, maintains, and secures test devices and tools used to adjust, calibrate, and repair equipment; including clamp-on meters, PQA, IV Curve tracer.
  • Ensures that service commitments are met within expected response time.
  • Manages vehicle inventory and restocks as necessary.
  • Completes required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, and equipment related items).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years electrical experience
  • Appropriate licensing to work as electrician in the designated area.
  • Working knowledge of solar industry best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar failures.
  • Ability to work well with subcontracted Construction personnel in resolution of issues identified in the field during that phase of a project.
  • Ability to take detailed documentation and assessment of any/all task at hand
  • NABCEP certification or other component specific solar certifications a plus

National Field Service Manager

Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking experienced professional to manage its field technical workforce responsible for O&M and PM work for more than 1700 client sites nationwide. This position is based in Tucson, Arizona

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all field operations, including but not limited to preventive maintenance; corrective maintenance, performance optimization, inventory management, meeting contractual obligations, fleet maintenance, supply contracts.
  • Ensure all field service projects are completed within budget/deadline to meet customers’ needs
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures and training for on-site safety, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Works with field management and service personnel to ensure quick responses to field events and communications with customers.
  • Administers and ensures compliance with O&M and Service contracts.
  • Communicates project status, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
  • Responsible for technical training programs, ensuring field employees are fully trained and qualified to perform their assigned duties.
  • Creates annual O&M, service and warranty budgets for review and approval by senior management
  • Ensures the maintenance of up-to-date manufacturer and safety certifications of Field Service Technicians.
  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of performance standards, quality, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, plant performance measures.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Ensures compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and complete and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.
  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in O&M technical service management, project controls, scheduling, service, contracts administration
  • Experience developing, implementing and managing a skills-based technical service program with a distributed workforce nationally or regionally.
  • Proven leadership and ability to orchestrate resources and motivate teams
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in problem solving and commitment to deliver revenue/profitability to plan.
  • Key skills include energy concepts, financial analysis, basic knowledge of construction, electrical concepts, contract management, strong organization, and prioritization
  • Management of a commercial photovoltaic field service workforce a big plus

Procurement & Logistics Manager

Bay4 Energy Services, a national leader in the management and servicing of commercial solar power plants, is seeking an experienced hands-on professional to manage its procurement and logistics processes for its technical services organization. This position is based in Tucson, Arizona.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of existing and new suppliers’ base and product offerings to support job demand requirements.
  • Define supplier metrics (quality, delivery, pricing, quality, lead time, etc.) for optimum cost and ease of procuring material relative to volatile demand requirements.
  • Develop and monitor supplier performance according to agreed-upon metrics. Takes action in cases of unfavorable trends.
  • In cooperation with Bay4 team members, ensure achievement of annual material cost budgets and, where possible, cost reductions
  • Maintain onsite storage and handle logistics of delivery and shipment.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances as well as claims against suppliers.
  • Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, materials and supplies
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the procurement and logistics of equipment. materials and supplies for commercial construction
  • Ability to source and negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers
  • Understanding and modification of supplier contracts including detailed specifications
  • Experience with commercial electrical equipment and gear a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
